Her first job at Deutsche Bank was as a student in 2006. Vineeta Singh's extensive experience in the banking and finance industries earned her the position of Director at Quetzal Verify Private Limited. Her career in that role, however, lasted five years.

Vineeta Singh founded Sugar after failing to launch two previous businesses and leaving a job offer of "one crore" from an international investment firm. That is correct. Instead of making something for others, she wanted to accomplish something for herself. Vineeta co-founded her third firm, Sugar, with her husband, Kaushik Mukherjee.

Back then, Lakmé, L'Oréal, and MAC Cosmetics led the Indian cosmetics industry. Then, in 2012, SUGAR was founded, overcoming a wave of local and global competitors to become India's fastest-growing cosmetics brand. Sugar has become India's fastest-growing cosmetics brand in just five years. The company operates over 2500 branded outlets in more than 130 cities and produces more than 100 crores in sales.

Sugar Cosmetics is a popular brand among millennials and one of India's fastest-growing premium cosmetics companies. The company sells cosmetics and personal care products geared towards the Indian market.After closing a $50 million deal with private equity firm L Catterton, Singh characterized the company's products as catering to the preferences of women with diverse skin tones.In September 2022, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh invested an undisclosed amount and became a "brand evangelist" of Sugar Cosmetics. She has been a Shark on the business reality TV show Shark Tank India since the show started airing on SonyLIV in 2021.
